"Foam Cell" refers to a micro-cellular foam insert that helps dramatically reduce the effects of shocks transferred through the shock absorbers, allowing them to perform better for longer, even on the toughest terrain. Cavitation and aeration are the enemies of any shock absorber. When the shock absorber works harder, the oil and gas in the outer chamber start to mix and form bubbles, reducing the viscosity of the oil. When this aerated oil passes through the valve, resistance decreases, preventing the shock absorber from functioning properly. The Foam Cell insert with trapped micro-cellular gas occupies the void normally filled with air or nitrogen during a shock, eliminating the possibility of bubble formation and allowing for continued performance with unparalleled shock resistance.
